Our park: a true natural sanctuary

MONOWA is a 900 m² tropical garden where birds fly daily among 1800 and 2000 tropical butterflies from all parts of the world. Alongside them live birds, fish, turtles, and stick insects in an ecosystem carefully designed to recreate the
conditions of their areas of origin.

In our tropical garden you can discover
all phases of the biological cycle of
butterflies and closely observe behaviors such as courtship, flight, egg laying, or feeding. The heart of the park is the puparium, a unique space where visitors can witness the birth of butterflies live.

The butterflies you can see at MONOWA are born in our garden, where they complete the final stage of their life cycle and fly freely. Their chrysalides come from sustainable butterfly farms located in tropical countries such as Costa Rica, Panama, Ecuador, El Salvador, Thailand, the Philippines, Malaysia, Belize, and Kenya.

These farms play an important role in biodiversity conservation, as they offer a sustainable economic alternative to activities that contribute to deforestation. Furthermore, they generate employment for local communities and help protect rainforest areas through the responsible use of their natural resources.
